Born on November 20, 1987 in the village of Bildyugi, Sharkovshchinsky district, Vitebsk region. In 2010, she graduated from the Faculty of Belarusian Philology and Culture (specialty “Belarusian Language and Literature. Journalism”) of the educational institution “Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank” with a diploma with honors. In the same year, she became a master’s student at this university and in 2011 received a master’s degree in “Literary Studies (Belarusian).” In 2011, she defended her master’s thesis on the topic “International texts and contemporary Belarusian poetry (based on the lyrics of Lyudmila Rublevskaya and Leanida Dranko-Maisyuk).”
 
After graduating from graduate school at the State Scientific Institution “Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus” in 2014, she was hired to work in the department of Belarusian literature of the 20th and 21st centuries. for the position of junior researcher. In 2021, she was transferred to the position of researcher.
 
Received a scholarship from the President of the Republic of Belarus for talented young scientists (2018). Has gratitude from the Minsk State Palace of Children and Youth, the Main Directorate for Education of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, the State Museum of Belarusian Literature; diploma of the Ministry of Information, certificates of the RIU “Literature and Art”, Minsk city branch of the Union of Writers of Belarus, Belarusian Republican Literary Fund, etc.
 
From 01.11.2011 to 31.10.2014 I.S. Metelitsa was a graduate student at the state scientific institution “Institute of Language and Literature named after Yakub Kolas and Yanka Kupala of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus” (since 09/20/2012 - state scientific institution “Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus”).
 
From November 3, 2014 to May 31, 2021, she worked as a junior researcher in the department of Belarusian literature of the 20th and 21st centuries. branch "Institute of Literary Studies named after Yanka Kupala" of the Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, from June 1, 2021 to the present - researcher in the same department.
 
From 2016 to 2021, I. S. Metelitsa collaborated with the State Educational Institution “Minsk Regional Institute for Educational Development” as part of training camps to prepare students in grades 9-11 for the final stage of the Republican Olympiad in Belarusian language and literature: developed and conducted lectures and practical classes on the theory and history of Belarusian literature; prepared schoolchildren for oral statements on topics affecting the history and modernity of the domestic literary process.
 
Since November 2021 - member of the section of the Belarusian language and literature of the Scientific and Methodological Council under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus.
I. S. Metelitsa has 5 acts of introducing the results of research work into the educational process. Research work “Belarusian poetry of the 21st century: administrative positions and forms” and “Young poetry of Belarus. Ways and Chitacha” are used in the educational process of the State Educational Institution “Minsk Regional Institute for Educational Development” and the educational institution “Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank”.
 
Sphere of scientific interests – the literary process of the 20th-21st centuries, in particular ideological, content and formal transformations in poetry, the study of the mechanisms of qualitative changes at various levels of organization of a literary text.
