June 6, 2024 of the year took place scientific and practical conference “Paths of Arseny Lis”, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of our famous folklorist and writer. The event in the homeland of Arseny Sergeevich (Smorgon - Zalesye) was attended by scientists and cultural workers. In his speeches, the main directions of A.S. Lis’s activities were announced, and numerous words of respect and gratitude were expressed for the final and inspiring work. A teacher, scientist, educator, literary critic, poet, awakener of Belarus, a true intellectual and a sincere person - this is how Arseny Lis remains in our memory. During the conference, his fellow countrymen - workers in the sphere of culture and education of the Smorgon region - took part in bright, memorable speeches.

The conference is the next in a series of off-site events Department of Folklore and Culture of Slavic Peoples, Institute of Art History, Ethnography and Folklore named after Kondrat Krapiva Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, dedicated to famous folklorists. In addition to achieving scientific goals, during such events there is an expansion of cooperation with regional cultural institutions, local historians, and teachers.
