Born on July 3, 1960 in the village of Zakalnoye, Lyubansky district, Minsk region. He graduated from the Faculty of Philology of the Minsk State Pedagogical Institute named after A. M. Gorky (1982), postgraduate studies at the Yanka Kupala Institute of Literature of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR (1986). He worked as a teacher at the Rechenskaya secondary school in the Lyuban region (1982), at the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno: assistant, senior teacher, associate professor, head of the department of Belarusian literature (1986–2005).

Member of the Writers' Union of Belarus.

Carried out the management and development of collective scientific assignments: “National types of mentality in Belarusian and European literatures: idea-aesthetic specificity, style evolution, translational interpretation” (2011–2015), “Belarusian” European literary connections and imagelogy: myths, stereotypes, reality” (2016–2020), “Belarusian literature in the system of European master-style discourse: contacts, typology, specifics” (2021–2025), carried out within the framework of state scientific research programs of the Republic of Belarus. He supervised the implementation of the BRFFR projects: “Paesy of Western Belarus: masterpieces and methods”, “Belarusian poetry in the system of daily social cultural processes”, “Creativity of Belarusian poets of the 20th century as a spirit” “Una-cultural phenomenon”, “Paezia of Western Belarus: an anthology”, “ Historical memory of the people: forgotten paets of Western Belarus (1921 – 1939)” and others.  
 
Awards:
• Laureate of the award of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee “For creative efforts in the area of culture and culture in 2000” (2001).
• Winner of the Republican literary competition “Lepshy creation 2012” in the field of journalism “Zalati Cupid” (2013).
• Laureate of the Prize of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (together with Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus M. I. Mushinsky and Doctor of Philology E. A. Gorodnitsky).
• Monthly grant of the President of the Republic of Belarus in the field of science for 2024.
 
Published about 500 scientific papers, including 18 books and brochures.
 
Scientific field interests: problems of the development of Belarusian poetry of the 20th – 21st centuries, Russian-language literature of Belarus, comparative literature, Belarusian-European literary interaction, interdisciplinary problems of connections between Belarusian literature and history and national consciousness.
